Scott Ellam
Founder & CEO
Scott Ellam is the Founder and CEO of Connecting Excellence Group (XCE), the UK-based international executive recruitment group built on a Bitcoin standard. Since 2014, he has led Spencer Riley, XCE’s flagship subsidiary, and has built a profitable and high-performing executive recruitment business. In 2021, he introduced a Bitcoin treasury strategy, establishing a sound money foundation to strengthen the balance sheet for future growth.
With the launch of XCE as a BTC company, the executive search business is uniquely positioned for accelerated growth driven by the Group’s Bitcoin treasury strategy. XCE’s IPO has increased access to capital, expanded its Bitcoin treasury, and strengthened talent attraction through performance-based share options. Scott has also scaled its BTC-specialist executive recruitment division to drive education, integration and corporate Bitcoin adoption.

Sam Roberts
Non Executive Chairman
Sam Roberts is a qualified actuary and Director of Investment Consulting at Cartwright; an advisory firm helping pension trusts, companies, and trusts to make resilient long-term financial decisions. Sam’s first introduction to Bitcoin was in 2013, which led to a strong personal interest, followed in 2022 by a realisation that the institutional world would soon need to adopt Bitcoin at scale. Sam subsequently advised and led the first UK pension trust to make an allocation to Bitcoin in October 2024. He was one of the first to advocate for institutions to create a Chief Bitcoin Officer role to facilitate the integration of Bitcoin in companies through this monetary transition.

Richard Byworth is a seasoned expert in the Bitcoin treasury company space, with over 20 years of leadership in finance, alternative investments, and digital assets. As Managing Partner at Syz Capital, a Swiss alternative investment firm, he leads an innovative Bitcoin denominated hedge fund, equipping him with the insight to support XCE’s innovative Bitcoin treasury approach. His role as a Board Member at Relai, a Swiss Bitcoin company, and Advisor at JAN3, aiding nation-states in Bitcoin adoption, highlights his deep expertise in scaling Bitcoin solutions globally.

Angus Gladish
Chief Financial Officer
Angus Gladish is an experienced finance professional having spent over 15 years as a senior interim consultant leading finance teams and as a consultant on a number of specific projects across a variety of sectors from SMEs to large corporates. This included supporting AIM and Main Market IPOs. Prior to this he held client facing roles in project management, project analysis and implementation for Cambridge Management Consulting, in audit and advisory at KPMG and in corporate finance lead advisory roles with Brewin Dolphin and Evolution Securities.
Angus joined the Group as interim CFO and adviser in July 2025 prior to becoming a director. As CFO, he is responsible for all aspects of finance, including internal audit, tax and treasury, ensuring robust financial planning, reporting, compliance, and control and, in conjunction with the CEO, City-facing matters. Angus holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) from Durham University, is a qualified Chartered Accountant and is a Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.

Dr. Adam Back is the Co-Founder and CEO of Blockstream and BSTR, the ‘Bitcoin Standard Treasury Company’ holding 30,000+ BTC. Adam is known for inventing Hashcash, the proof-of-work algorithm cited by Satoshi Nakamoto in the Bitcoin whitepaper as the future basis for its mining function. He has also led innovations such as the Liquid Network, Blockstream Satellite, and enterprise-grade mining solutions.
